Fayette County Legal Aid Lexington Ky
KAJC and Kentucky`s four civil legal aid programs launched another legal aid program in March 2022 when the redesigned website kyjustice.org went live. The website provides information on various civil law issues, including family law, criminal suppression, housing and consumer issues. It also provides answers to general legal questions, a tool that verifies eligibility for legal aid, and an interactive map of resources for counties. Become a volunteer to help our clients with their civil law issues. The Legal Aid Centre is staffed every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET with KAJC staff and volunteers. While volunteers do not provide legal advice, they do offer legal information to help clients find and complete the right legal forms on a variety of topics. The Legal Aid Centre provides information on a variety of legal topics, including divorce, suppression, child support, and simple probate matters. They can have a personal and lasting impact on the poor and vulnerable in our community. The Kentucky Access to Justice Commission established the Legal Aid Center in partnership with the Office of the Clerk of the Fayette County Circuit Court, Fayette County Family Court judges, Fayette County Law Library administrators, the Court Administration Office, and the Bluegrass Legal Aid Office. The Fayette County Bar Foundation provided funds to purchase computers and a printer for the center. Our four offices are located in our service area.
Many of the forms clients need can be completed through guided interviews. The interviews conducted are user-friendly, with the client simply answering a series of questions. Once the interview is complete, the program generates the necessary court documents. Guided interviews are available on the following topics: Access to Justice Foundation (606) 255-9913400 Old Vine St, Ste 203Lexington, KY 40507 The Legal Help Center is looking for lawyers and law students to volunteer during the center`s business hours.
