The Law Society was pleased to once again provide a forum during Law Week 2022 to come together, share stories and celebrate the good work of the profession. Through a series of events and initiatives, this year`s Law Week once again helped highlight the important role the profession plays in access to justice, inclusion and community service. This year`s Law Week program included more than 30 events, including four major events hosted by the Law Society. The Headspace Kimberley team reached out to Broome Senior High`s Student Services team and asked them to identify the students who would benefit most from working with Headspace staff. The group of 10 youth included a mix of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students; Some were disconnected from school or remote communities, or had behavioural problems or low self-confidence. The Trust`s support provided additional alcohol and substance abuse counselling and support to at-risk youth through the Holyoake Teen Program. We are proud to put together an incredible program of over 190 events on a range of topics that have made it easier to learn about law.
